Welcome
to my Table

I’m committed to helping you eat well and feel great around food.

About-Vanessa@2x

About me

“Chi mangia bene, vive bene”.

This old Italian saying, that means “she who eats well, lives well” has always hit home for me.

You see, many years ago, I won the food culture lottery. Because when you’re born into an Italian family, there’s no other way of putting it. I grew up learning to pick perfect produce, and spent Sunday afternoons with a bowl propped on my knees shelling peas or some other vegetable I would later enjoy over a long, leisurely dinner with family crammed around a table. I witnessed gardening, curing, canning and no-waste cooking, before these were ever trends. They were routines embedded into my food culture, which fostered in me, a deep appreciation for wholesome ingredients and great food at an early age. Needless to say, my passion for food began long before my professional career. Food, cooking and the family table, this trio is where my heart was, and still is today.

My brain on the other hand has always been wired for the sciences. Which made nutrition, the study of nutrients, body, diet and disease, the natural academic choice.

After two degrees in human nutrition, a decade of professional experience, two businesses and two small children, I have never been more convinced of the NEED to spread word about nutrition’s preventative potential and the importance of cultivating a positive relationship with food at an early age. In a world where lifestyle-related diseases top mortality charts and where diet culture and body dissatisfaction take root as early as childhood, I count my blessings for having won that lottery many years ago and feel it my duty to share that fortune with you.

My hope is that somewhere along the way, whether through one of my recipes, workshops or coaching programs, you are inspired and motivated to take charge of your health and create a positive food culture in your home and for the generations to come.

Thank you for being here.
Salute,

Vanessa

About you

Since you’re here, I want to know…how would you describe your relationship with food? How about your food culture? Do you make food choices with ease or do you feel anxious or guilty at meals?

What about your body image; would you describe it as positive, or negative? And how do you feel about cooking; does it feel meditative, or like a burden?

If you’re having trouble answering these questions…I hear you. You’re not alone. From information overwhelm, to yo-yo dieting and troubled relationships with food…eating as become complicated.

But it doesn’t have to be.

My aim is to help you find ease in your food choices and joy in every bite.

What exactly do I do?

My mission:

pleasure, without compromise.

  • I use a habit-based approach to help you create life-changing routines.
  • I create Mediterranean recipes for your family table.
  • I harness the power of cooking and tradition to restore broken relationships with food.
  • I teach mindful eating, so you can switch off auto-pilot, savour every bite and find food satisfaction (finally).
  • I educate on the power of the Mediterranean lifestyle, the most science-backed, sustainable and delicious eating style.

What I believe

BELIEF #1

The best diet is the one you can stick to.

Therefore, one that you love.

BELIEF #2

The mediterranean lifestyle

is adaptable, sustainable and absolutely delicious.

BELIEF #3

Food is more than nutrients. Yes - food is nourishing.

But it is also tradition, connection and pleasure

BELIEF #4

Food should make you feel good.

If you are crippled with guilt or anxiety when you eat, then you are doing it wrong.

BELIEF #5

Intentions don’t build habits.

Rituals, routines and actions, do.

BELIEF #6

A balanced lifestyle starts with self-awareness.

No more doing what you coworker said. It’s time to tune-in and do what feels good for you.

BELIEF #7

Nutrition is not an opinion.

Nutrition is a science. It may not be perfect, but health-related decisions should not be left at the hands of misinformation.

But most importantly…

“I believe food should taste good and make you feel good. So the only thing left to do? Decide which recipe you’ll be making tonight.”
